ABS

Anti-lock Braking System

Reduces wheel-lock tendency by monitoring wheel speed and modulating brake pressure.

EBS

Electronic Braking System

Coordinates electronic brake demand with pneumatic actuation and additional trailer functions.

4S/2M

Four sensors / two modulators

A common architecture description; final suitability depends on axle grouping and system design.

RE valve

Relay emergency valve

Provides rapid service-brake relay action and emergency response when trailer supply is lost.

LACV

Lift axle control valve

Controls lift-axle pneumatic sequencing according to the selected operating logic.

Levelling valve

Ride-height control valve

Adds or exhausts suspension air to maintain a defined chassis height.

Slack adjuster

Brake-clearance mechanism

Transfers actuator force and maintains the intended running clearance at a drum brake.
